Wang Qishan Meets with Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation Unity Dow of Botswana

On July 13, 2018, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation Unity Dow of Botswana at Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan expressed that China and Botswana enjoy a long-standing friendship. Since the establishment of China-Botswana diplomatic relations, the two countries have respected each other, pursued development hand in hand and carried out fruitful cooperation in various fields. The Chinese side is happy for the development achievements made by the Botswanian side, and hopes that both sides will constantly increase political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, and share development experience. China and Africa are sincere friends, and President Xi Jinping's proposal of a community with a shared future for mankind should be concretely embodied in China-Africa relations and China-Botswana relations. President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi is welcome to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). It is believed that China-Botswana relations will be elevated to a new level under the guidance of the two heads of state.

Unity Dow expressed that Botswana highly values its relations with China, and firmly upholds the one-China policy. President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi looks forward to attending the FOCAC Beijing Summit, and stands ready to expand and deepen Botswana-China cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
