Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li Meets with Acting Head of the African Diplomatic Mission to China and Djibouti Ambassador to China

On September 23, 2020, Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li met with Abdullah Mijil, Acting Head of the African Diplomatic Mission to China and Djibouti Ambassador to China.

Deng Li expressed, the current China-Djibouti relations are at the best in history. The two countries have frequent high-level exchanges and fruitful results of cooperation in various fields, as well as understand and support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns. The Chinese side is willing to work with African countries to successfully hold the commemorative activities of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and strengthen cooperation in fighting against the pandemic and resuming work and production, so as to promote greater development of China-Africa relations.

Abdullah Mijil said, Djibouti-China strategic partnership has developed well and Djibouti is proud of it. Djibouti is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in the fields of ports and railways under the framework of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. African countries are willing to work with the Chinese side to take the 20th anniversary of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to push Africa-China cooperation to a new level.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
