President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea Meets with Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming

On June 24, 2014, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea met at the Presidential Palace with Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming, who was visiting Equatorial Guinea.

President Obiang said that China and Equatorial Guinea are good friends and that China has been sincerely supportive and has participated in Equatorial Guinea's national construction, making significant contributions to Equatorial Guinea's economic development and to the improvement of people's livelihoods. Equatorial Guinea is satisfied with the status quo of the development of bilateral relations, has greater expectations for China and would like to intensify friendly cooperation with China in all sectors.

Zhang Ming said China and Equatorial Guinea embrace traditional friendly relations. The bilateral relations of both nations have moved forward in an all-round manner and practical cooperation in all fields has yielded substantial results since the establishment of diplomatic relationship 44 years ago. China attaches importance to developing relations with Equatorial Guinea and is willing to join hands with the country in carrying forward traditional friendship, in deepening friendly cooperation and in promoting further development of bilateral relations.

On June 23, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming held talks with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Equatorial Guinea Agapito Mba Mokuy.
