On January 14 local time, when meeting the press together with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Agapito Mba Mokuy of Equatorial Guinea after their talks, Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed that the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit is the common value pursued by both China and Africa. China is willing to carry forward the righteousness and pursue shared benefits, cooperate for win-win results and achieve common development under the guidance of the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit.

Wang Yi said that mutual support and mutual help serve as the most prominent characteristics of the China-Africa relations. As early as the founding of the People's Republic of China, we offered firm support to the African continent in its national liberation cause. Although China was also stuck in poverty at that time, we pulled in our belts to build the Tanzam Railway. Similarly, in the 1970s, African brothers offered firm support to China in pursuit of the restoration of its legitimate seat of the United Nations and "carried China to the United Nations.

We continued our mutual support and mutual help in the new era. For example, when a massive earthquake struck Wenchuan of China in 2008, the African brothers offered generous help to China and donated 64 million yuan to the earthquake-stricken area, showing the brotherly friendship featuring by the sharing of weal and woe. President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea personally instructed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Equatorial Guinea to pay a special trip to the earthquake-stricken area with 1 million euros of donation. The 1 million euros, which means that every citizen of Equatorial Guinea donated 1 euro, is not a small amount for the country. We will remember this precious friendship forever.

Wang Yi noted that the mutual support between China and Africa is based on similar historical experiences, the same aspiration and pursuit, and the fact that both sides are developing countries sharing the same destiny. The correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit proposed by President Xi Jinping during his visit to Africa in 2013 is rightly the most concise summary of this kind of bilateral relations featuring mutual support. China has always kept promises, valued the bonds of friendship, carried forward the justice and upheld the morality. The correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit has become the common value pursued by both China and Africa. We cherish the sincere friendship and affections with the African countries and are willing to carry forward the righteousness and pursue shared benefits, cooperate for win-win results and achieve common development under the guidance of the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit.
