Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Agapito Mba Mokuy of Equatorial Guinea

On January 14 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Foreign Minister Agapito Mba Mokuy of Equatorial Guinea in Bata.

Wang Yi expressed that the Chinese side cherishes the established friendly and mutually beneficial relations featuring mutual support and assistance with Equatorial Guinea, regards Equatorial Guinea as a reliable cooperative partner of China in African continent and is willing to continue to strengthen all-round cooperation with Equatorial Guinea, to keep mutual support in politics and to maintain mutual benefit and win-win result in economy, so as to turn traditional friendship between both countries into visible and tangible fruits of cooperation as soon as possible. Both countries should work together to create a new situation of a comprehensive cooperative partnership and further build China-Equatorial Guinea relations into a model of mutually beneficial cooperation and mutual support between big countries and small countries. On the basis of continuous implementation of a package of reciprocal cooperation, the Chinese side is willing to, together with Equatorial Guinea, explore and develop new growth points of cooperation with new emphasis on agriculture and fishery, actively participate in economic diversification and industrialization process in Equatorial Guinea, and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.

Agapito Mba Mokuy expressed that China is Equatorial Guinea's good brother, good friend and long-term partner. Since the establishment of diplomatic relationship 45 years ago, whether Equatorial Guinea is in good times or bad, China has always stood together with the people of Equatorial Guinea and China's support and assistance has played a crucial role for Equatorial Guinea's economic and social development. The visit of Foreign Minister Wang Yi once again proves that the two countries enjoy partnership featuring mutual benefit and win-win results. He believes that this visit will effectively promote the further development of bilateral cooperation. He expressed his hope that the Chinese side could continue to promote the existing bilateral cooperation and at the same time actively participate in the process of industrialization in Equatorial Guinea, support Equatorial Guinea for the implementation of 2020 Long-Range Planning, and help Africa realize greater independence in politics, economy and culture and achieve due international status.
