Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping Attends Inauguration Ceremony of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea

On May 21, 2016, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea met at the Presidential Palace with Miao Wei, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and Minister of Industry and Information Technology.

Miao Wei conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm congratulations and best wishes to President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. Miao Wei said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Equatorial Guinea 46 years ago, traditional friendship between the two countries has remained unshakable and become even firmer as time goes by, and mutually beneficial cooperation has been flourishing. Both countries are trustworthy good brothers and partners. China is willing to work with Equatorial Guinea to actively implement the results of the Johannesburg Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to promote bilateral comprehensive cooperative partnership to a new level.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo expressed gratitude to President Xi Jinping for sending special envoy to attend his inauguration ceremony, and asked Special Envoy Miao Wei to convey his sincere thanks and warm greetings to President Xi Jinping. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo expressed that, China is an important cooperative partner of Equatorial Guinea, and Equatorial Guinea stands ready to further strengthen friendly and cooperative relations with China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in such fields as processing and manufacturing, medium and small-sized enterprises as well as financing, and help Equatorial Guinea advance economic diversification, so as to achieve the long-term and sustainable development of the country.

On May 20, Miao Wei attended the inauguration ceremony of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo held in Malabo, capital of Equatorial Guinea.
