Special Representative of Chinese Government on African Affairs Zhong Jianhua Meets with Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, Francophonie and Regional Integration Nzengue of Gabon

On March 23, 2015, Ambassador Zhong Jianhua, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs met with Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, Francophonie and Regional Integration Nzengue of Gabon in Libreville, capital of Gabon. H.E. Sun Jiwen, Chinese Ambassador to Gabon, Director General for the Department of the Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mujara, Director General for the Department of Asian Affairs Ambassador Ovono, Director General for the Department of International Organizations Ambassador Mboumba of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, Francophonie and Regional Integration Nzengue of Gabon and others were present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhong Jianhua conveyed the greetings from Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, Francophonie and Regional Integration Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet and Minister Delegate Nzengue of Gabon. He stressed that over the past 40-odd years, with the joint efforts and elaborately nurturing of generations of the leaders of the two nations, the China-Gabon friendship, which has withstood the test of the times and ever changing international vicissitudes, has become even firmer as time goes by. China cherishes the bilateral friendly relations and stands ready to join efforts with Gabon to translate the China-Gabon traditional friendship into tangible cooperation results benefitting the two peoples.

Minister Delegate Nzengue extended warm welcome to Ambassador Zhong Jianhua on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration Emmanuel Issoze Ngondet, who was on an overseas working trip. He also spoke highly of the cooperation achievements from the Gabon-China friendly cooperation, and expressed gratitude to China for its long-term and valuable support to the vast developing countries including Gabon. Nzengue noted that the Gabonese government regards China as an important strategic partner and is ready to, together with China, inherit friendship, cement consensus, and move forward together on the development path.

Both sides also exchanged views on other topics of common interest.
