Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Zhong Jianhua Meets with President Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon

On March 24, 2015, Ambassador Zhong Jianhua, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs, met with President Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon in Libreville, capital of Gabon. H.E. Sun Jiwen, Chinese Ambassador to Gabon, and Ambassador Til, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the President of Gabon, were present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhong Jianhua conveyed President Xi Jinping’s sincere greetings and best wishes to President Ali Bongo Ondimba, appreciated the great importance attached by generations of leaders of the Gabonese side to the China-Gabon relations and reaffirmed that the Chinese side will promote the sound and stable development of the bilateral relations and benefit the two peoples as always.

President Ali Bongo Ondimba thanked for President Xi Jinping's greetings and wishes and asked Ambassador Zhong Jianhua to convey warm greetings and wishes to President Xi Jinping. He pleasantly recalled the previous experiences of his visits to China and emphasized that Gabon attaches importance to developing relations with China. Bilateral cooperation enjoys broad prospects and Gabon welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and conduct business in Gabon so as to achieve mutual benefits with win-win results.

Ambassador Zhong Jianhua and President Ali Bongo Ondimba also exchanged in-depth views on further development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, international issues and regional security situation and other topics.
