Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Ghana's Vice President Aliu

On March 24, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with Ghana's Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

During the meeting, Zhai said China and Ghana have profound traditional friendship and recent years have witnessed frequent high-level exchanges, increasing political trust, fruitful economic and trade cooperation and mutual support in international affairs. Zhai thanked for Ghana's adherence to the one-China policy, saying that China is ready to work with Ghana to further consolidate the traditional friendship, expand pragmatic cooperation and push bilateral relations to one new level after another.

Aliu said the traditional friendship between the two countries goes back to ancient times. In recent years, the relations have been developing smoothly and have reached a new high. He thanked for China's long-standing support and assistance and welcomed Chinese businesses to invest in Ghana. Aliu noted that Ghana adheres to the one-China policy and will actively participate in the Beijing Olympic Games.
