On March 31, 2014, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

Sun Baohong was appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana, replacing Gong Jianzhong.

Xu Jianguo was appointed Ambassador to Ireland, replacing Luo Linquan.

Li Ruiyou was appointed Ambassador to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, replacing Qiu Bohua.
