On June 8, 2015, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences to President John Mahama of Ghana over the explosion accident at a gas station in Ghana's capital Accra which caused heavy casualties.

In the message of condolences, Xi Jinping, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, expressed deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathies to the injured and bereaved families.
