On July 16, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with visiting Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hanna Tetteh of Ghana.

Wang Yi spoke positively of the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and expressed his hope that both countries will enhance cooperation in such priority fields as industry, infrastructure, energy resources, aviation, agriculture, fishery, human resources, peace and security and together open up a bright future for bilateral relations by taking the opportunity of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations and on the basis of strengthened political mutual trust.

Wang Yi stressed that China's cooperation with Africa is sincere, and it will resolutely uphold the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit put forward by President Xi Jinping, respect and maintain the interests of African nations and people and always put it in the first place, and never repeat the colonist path once adopted by the West. China's cooperation with Africa is rapidly upgrading from general merchandise trade to investment collaboration, developing from simple project engineering into international production capacity cooperation and transforming from small-scale exchanges to large-scale cooperation. Both sides should join efforts to transform and upgrade China-Africa cooperation thus blaze a new trail for common development.

Hanna Tetteh thanked for China's long-term help for Ghana's economic development, agreed to China's proposition for pushing bilateral relations and expressed that Ghana will further strengthen consultations and exchanges with China to comprehensively elevate bilateral relations. She also highly appreciated China's Africa policy and expressed her heartfelt gratitude for China's active help to Africa in combating the Ebola epidemic.
