Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui Meets with Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Albert Yankey of Ghana

On July 24, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui met with Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Albert Yankey of Ghana in Beijing, exchanging views on bilateral relations and consular cooperation.

Luo Zhaohui expressed, Ghana is China's important cooperation partner in Africa. Bilateral relations now enjoy a sound development momentum, with a steady increase in economic and trade cooperation and personnel exchanges. The Chinese side is willing to make concerted efforts with the Ghanaian side to forge a sound order for personnel exchanges and continue to deepen practical cooperation in various areas, so as to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

Albert Yankey said, Ghana-China relations are running at a high level. The Ghanaian side fully supports and actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative and is satisfied with the achievements in bilateral economic and trade cooperation and personnel exchanges. The Ghanaian side hopes to work with the Chinese side to take more positive measures to upgrade consular cooperation and move forward the bilateral friendly relations.

Prior to the meeting, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin and Albert Yankey co-chaired the first round of China-Ghana consular consultation.
