Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong Attends the Reception Marking the Independence Day of Kenya

On December 5, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong attended upon invitation the reception marking the independence day held by the Kenyan Embassy in China and addressed the function.

In his speech, Chen Xiaodong congratulated Kenya on the 56th anniversary of its independence and spoke positively of China-Kenya relations. He said, President Xi Jinping and President Uhuru Kenyatta have met many times in recent years, ushering and promoting bilateral relations into a new era. The Chinese side is ready to work with the Kenyan side to enhance synergy between the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen cooperation across the board, help Kenya achieve the Big Four Agenda and the Vision 2030, and make new contributions to building an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future.

Chen Xiaodong also exchanged views with Kenyan Ambassador to China Sarah Serem on bilateral relations and other topics.
