Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Majon Kamara of Liberia

On December 6, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Foreign Minister Majon Kamara of Liberia, who was in China for the 4th World Internet Conference.

Speaking highly of the Liberian government's efforts in promoting the development of China-Liberia relations, Wang Yi expressed that friendly cooperation between both countries conforms to the interests of the two countries and their peoples. China will, under the guidance of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), continue abiding by the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit and the principle of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith, and continuously enhance unity and cooperation with developing countries, especially the African countries including Liberia. Wang Yi also wished a smooth advancement of the Liberian election process.

Majon Kamara warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, thanked China for the long-term strong support to peace and development process of Liberia, and expressed that both countries have achieved tangible results from cooperation in various fields, which practically benefits the Liberian people. The adherence to the one-China policy and friendship toward China is the consensus of the people and all political parties in Liberia, and it will remain unchanged no matter how the domestic political situation changes. Liberia looks forward to further deepening Liberia-China and Africa-China cooperation under the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative as well as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to benefit people of both countries.
