Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui Meets with Minister of Finance and Economic Development and Leader of Militant Socialist Movement Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius

On November 3, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with Pravind Jugnauth, Minister of Finance and Economic Development and Leader of the Militant Socialist Movement of Mauritius, which is the country’s ruling party.

Zhang Yesui said that since the establishment of China-Mauritius diplomatic relationship in 1972, the two countries have always upheld the principle of mutual respect, equal treatment, mutual benefit and win-win results and understood and supported each other on issues concerning respective core interests and major concerns, which sets an example for the friendly cooperation among big and small countries. China is willing to work with Mauritius to further strengthen friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to push for the comprehensive and in-depth development of bilateral relations.

Pravind Jugnauth said that Mauritius and China enjoy traditional friendship, continuous high-level mutual exchanges as well as close economic and trade contacts. The Mauritian side hopes to take this visit as an opportunity to further expand bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional topics of common concern.
