CPPCC Chairman Yu Zhengsheng Meets with Vice Chairperson of National Council of Namibia

On 21 October 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met at the Great Hall of the People with Margaret Mensah-Williams, Vice Chairperson of the National Council of Namibia.

Yu Zhengsheng extended welcome to Margaret Mensah-Williams for visiting China again. He said that the people of China and Namibia support and cooperate with each other and have forged profound friendship. Over the 23 years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, bilateral relations have withstood various tests and have been consolidated and developed unceasingly. China is ready to work with Namibia to push forward China-Namibia relations to one new high after another. The CPPCC and the National Council of Namibia have maintained friendly exchanges. It has enhanced the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Hope both sides will further keep close personnel exchanges, strengthen sharing of experience on issues including the construction of democracy and legal system and economic and social development and explore cooperation in various forms so as to make new contributions to promoting the development of their respective countries.

Margaret Mensah-Williams expressed that Namibia is grateful for China's support to the Namibian side over the years and Namibia-China cooperation has huge potentials. Hope both sides will cooperate more in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry and education in the future.
