Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping Yang Chuantang Attends Inauguration Ceremony of Namibian President

On March 21 local time, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping and Minister of Transport Yang Chuantang attended upon invitation the inauguration ceremony of newly-elected President Hage Geingob of Namibia as well as the celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the independence of Namibia in Windhoek, capital of Namibia, and met with President Hage Geingob.

Yang Chuantang conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm congratulations on and best wishes to the assumption of office of President Hage Geingob as well as the 25th anniversary of the independence of Namibia. He said that China and Namibia enjoy a long-lasting traditional friendship, and as this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relationship, China will take this chance to, together with Namibia, enhance coordination, further strengthen political mutual trust, constantly elevate cooperation level and boost coordination and cooperation in international affairs thus push the in-depth development of bilateral relations and better benefit the two peoples.

President Hage Geingob thanked President Xi Jinping for sending the special envoy to attend the inauguration ceremony, and asked Special Envoy Yang Chuantang to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. Hage Geingob highly commented on bilateral relations, expressed gratitude to China for the long-term support and help to Namibia, and wished that bilateral friendly cooperation in all fields could continue deepening.

Political heavyweights and representatives of nearly 50 countries as well as international and regional organizations attended the inauguration ceremony of President Hage Geingob and the celebration for the 25th anniversary of the independence of Namibia.
