Li Keqiang Meets with President Hage Geingob of Namibia

On the afternoon of March 30, 2018, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Hage Geingob of Namibia who was in China for a state visit.

Li Keqiang stated that Namibia is an important cooperative partner of China in Africa. President Xi Jinping held fruitful talks with you yesterday, upgrading China-Namibia relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. China stands ready to, together with Namibia, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and enhance communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, so as to open up a brighter future for bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the mutually beneficial and practical cooperation between China and Namibia has gained remarkable achievements and enjoyed broad prospects. China is willing to, together with Namibia, enhance the alignment of development strategies, deepen cooperation in such key areas as agriculture, agricultural technology, infrastructure, production capacity and tourism, jointly support economic globalization as well as trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and take a clear-cut stand against trade protectionism, so as to better achieve common development, mutual benefit and win-win results.

Hage Geingob said that the traditional friendship between Namibia and China enjoys a long history. During the visit, the two sides agreed to upgrade bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and signed a series of important cooperative agreements, which will further promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in politics, economy, strategies and other fields. Namibia is willing to, together with China, deepen cooperation in various fields so as to push Namibia-China relations for continuous and forward-looking development.
