President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger Meets with Wang Yong

On June 2, 2017 local time, President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger met in Niamey with State Councilor Wang Yong.

Wang Yong conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to Mahamadou Issoufou, and expressed that China and Niger are good friends sharing mutual respect and mutual trust, and good partners with mutual benefit and win-win results. China will adhere to the principles towards Africa featuring sincerity, practical results, affinity and good faith as well as the correct values of friendship, justice and shared interests, work with Niger to well implement outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and transform the three major advantages of political mutual trust, people's friendship and economic complementarities between both countries into the achievements of mutually beneficial cooperation that benefits the two peoples, so as to elevate China-Niger relations to a new stage. China encourages Chinese enterprises to invest and establish business in Niger, and is willing to work with Niger to continuously strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as transportation, electricity, energy, agriculture, and medical treatment and public health, and help Niger to improve its capacity of independent and sustainable development.

Mahamadou Issoufou asked Wang Yong to convey his warm greetings to President Xi Jinping, and thanked China's strong support and selfless assistance in Niger's economic and social development. He noted that attaching high importance to developing its relations with China, Niger is ready to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields with the Chinese side.

During the visit in Niger, Wang Yong also respectively met with Prime Minister Brigi Rafini and Speaker of House of Assembly Ousseini Tinni of Niger, jointly witnessed the signing of bilateral economic and technical cooperation agreement and other documents with Prime Minister Brigi Rafini, and inspected the projects of China National Petroleum Corporation in Niger as well as the Niamey Reference General Hospital funded and built by China.
