President of Rwanda Meets with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun

On January 26, 2010, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame met with visiting Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral ties as well as other issues of common concern.

Zhai said that over the years China and Rwanda have understood and supported each other in the political areas and conducted fruitful cooperation in various forms in the economic, trade and other sectors. China cherishes the friendship with Rwanda and is ready to work with it to strengthen friendly exchanges at all levels, expand and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation on economy, trade, culture, education and health and keep closer consultations and coordination in regional and international affairs so as to push bilateral friendly cooperative relations to a new level.

Kagame said that Rwanda and China enjoy very friendly relations which are mutually beneficial and principled and the outcome of their bilateral cooperation in all areas is remarkable. Rwanda is ready to enhance cooperation with China in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, investment, human resources training and public health to bring more benefits to the people of Rwanda. Rwanda is always a good friend and good partner of China.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, Zhai and his delegation arrived in Rwanda for a visit on January 25. He held talks with Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs & Cooperation Louise Mushikiwabo on the same day.
