Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Outgoing Rwandan Ambassador to China

On May 25, 2010, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the Foreign Ministry with outgoing Rwandan Ambassador to China M Benjamin Rugangazi. Zhai said that the two countries enjoy a long-term friendship, pointing to the rapidly growing bilateral ties in recent years in particular. The two sides have maintained close political exchanges and made new headway in pragmatic cooperation in the areas of economy, trade and humanities. China thanked for the Rwandan government’s adherence to the one-China policy and its support to China on issues concerning China’s core interests. China is ready to work with Rwanda to expand and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various forms and push forward bilateral ties.

Ambassador Rugangazi said the friendly cooperation between the two countries has a good foundation and wide prospects. The Rwandan government and people attach importance to developing ties with China and recent years have witnessed remarkable outcome in bilateral cooperation in all areas and rapidly growing trade volume. Rwanda thanked for China’s help with the construction of projects in Rwanda and welcomed more Chinese businesses to invest in Rwanda.
