Wang Yi Holds Talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Louise Mushikiwabo of Rwanda

On April 30, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Louise Mushikiwabo of Rwanda, who was in China for a working visit.

Wang Yi noted that China-Africa cooperation, as part of South-South cooperation, is committed to mutual benefit and win-win result. China's cooperation with Africa has adhered to a policy featuring sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith, and the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit. As the most ideal cooperative partner of Africa in its path pursuing the industrialization, China is willing to help Africa improve its capability for self-driven and sustained development.

Wang Yi said that China-Rwanda relations witness a smooth development in recent years with the mutual trust constantly deepening and economic and trade cooperation yielding fruitful result. It is suggested that the two sides make efforts to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture, production capacity, tourism, infrastructure construction, human resources development, medical and heath care and other fields, and comprehensively deepen bilateral friendly and cooperative relations.

Louise Mushikiwabo expressed that Rwanda is sincerely grateful to China for its long-term help and support and agrees that both sides should intensify cooperation in the six major fields. She stressed that carrying out cooperation with China in production capacity serves not only the needs of Rwanda, but also the demands of Rwanda's neighboring countries and the whole African continent at large. China is the prior choice of Africa for its cause of industrialization and connectivity. Rwanda welcomes its undertaking of the transfer and development of China's production capacity, and stands ready to work with China to actively conduct mutually beneficial cooperation in various forms, so as to uplift Rwanda-China and Africa-China cooperation to a new high.

Both sides agreed to establish apolitical consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries, so as to maintain coordination and cooperation on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common interest.
