Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Louise Mushikiwabo of Rwanda Hold the First Round of Consultation between the Two Foreign Ministries

On June 23, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming, who was visiting Rwanda, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Louise Mushikiwabo of Rwanda held the first round of consultation between the two Foreign Ministries. Both sides conducted full communication on bilateral relations and implementation of achievements made in the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common interest.

Zhang Ming stated that over the past 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda, bilateral relations have been developing smoothly with constantly enhancing political mutual trust, fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation and effective people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China is willing to work with Rwanda to take the opportunity of the implementation of achievements of the summit to comprehensively strengthen friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, so as to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

Louise Mushikiwabo expressed that Rwanda thanks China for providing precious and long-term support in various fields and the country is willing to focus on strengthening cooperation with China under the FOCAC framework in terms of infrastructure construction, industrialization, agricultural modernization and other aspects, so as to constantly advance Rwanda-China relations to achieve new development.
