Foreign Minister Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Jean-Paul Adam of Seychelles

On July 22, 2013, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Foreign Minister Jean-Paul Adam of Seychelles, who was on an official visit to China.

Wang Yi said that since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, China and Seychelles have enjoyed a healthy and smooth development of bilateral relations, and carried out productive cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, health, military, culture, sports, and tourism. China highly values the relations with Seychelles and is willing to continue to work together with Seychelles to push forward the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Jean-Paul Adam said that for the 37 years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, Seychelles and China have enjoyed lasting and stable development of bilateral relations. It can be regarded as a model for South-South cooperation as well as for equal and mutually-beneficial cooperation between big and small countries. The Seychelles side thanked China for the unselfish help to Seychelles for the economic and social development. Seychelles is willing to work with China to boost and deepen cooperation between the two sides in various fields for the benefits of the two peoples.

Follow the talks, the two sides signed the "Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles on Establishing the Political Consultation Mechanism".
