President Xi Jinping Appoints New Ambassadors

On November 9, 2018, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:

I. Jiang Zaidong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, replacing Wang Wentian.

II. Xiao Jianguo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, replacing Liu Hongyang.

III. Feng Biao was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Syrian Arab Republic, replacing Qi Qianjin.

IV. Guo Wei (female) was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Seychelles, replacing Yu Jinsong (female).

V. Li Jian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Burkina Faso.
