Zhang Dejiang Meets with President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo

On May 31, 2016, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo.

Zhang Dejiang said that China and Togo enjoy profound traditional friendship. During Mr. President's visit to China this time, President Xi Jinping conducted comprehensive planning with you on the development of China-Togo relations, injecting new and strong impetus for enhancing friendly cooperation between the two countries. China will adhere to the principles of “sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith” and correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit when working with Togo to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the early implementation of more outcomes from the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The NPC stands ready to further develop friendly relations with the National Assembly of Togo, give play to the role of senator friendly group and strengthen exchanges in development experience and other fields, so as to provide favorable legal conditions for promoting cooperation in various fields.

Faure Gnassingbe said Togo and China are good friends with political mutual trust and fruitful achievements from practical cooperation. Togo is willing to learn from China's development experience and strengthen cooperation with China, so as to promote the implementation of outcomes of the FOCAC Johannesburg Summit.
