On March 25, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng met with President's Special Envoy and Finance Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe of Zambia.

Le Yucheng said that the Chinese side values the traditional friendship between China and Zambia, and is willing to share development opportunities with the Zambian side under the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to realize win-win cooperation and jointly meet challenges.

Margaret Mwanakatwe thanked the Chinese side for the support for economic and social development of Zambia, adding that the practical cooperation between Zambia and China has benefited both sides. Zambia hoped to continuously strengthen cooperation in investment and financing and other fields.

Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.
