On September 6, 2016, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Lin Songtian met with the press delegation of Malawi, consisting of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, the Nation, the Daily Times, Zodiak Broadcasting Station and other mainstream media. Combined with the implementation measures of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and outcomes of China-Malawi practical cooperation, Lin Songtian introduced China's policy towards Africa and the new development concept of China-Africa cooperation. He also gave an interview regarding China-Malawi relations and bilateral cooperation.

Speaking highly of China's achievements in development and its policy towards Africa, the Malawi delegation members expressed the willingness to deeply learn about the successful practice of China's development by taking full advantage of their visit to China, so as to make positive contributions to promoting mutual understanding and friendship as well as pushing for friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation.
