On October 16, 2015, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met with Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides of Cyprus.

Zhang Yesui noted that President Xi Jinping met with President Nicos Anastasiades of Cyprus yesterday, exchanging in-depth views on the development of China-Cyprus relations. It is hoped that both sides can earnestly carry out the consensus reached by both leaders to constantly advance bilateral relations.

Ioannis Kasoulides expressed that the visit of President Nicos Anastasiades to China is of great significance to deepening bilateral relations and promoting bilateral friendly cooperation. The Cypriot side will work with the Chinese side to further expand practical cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, investment and energy.
