Plan of Cooperation between the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia in the Field of health and medicine for the years 2000-2002(1

The Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia (there in after referred to as "Contracting Parties"), to facilitate the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation in the field of health and medical science between the two countries, signed at Beijing on October 20, 1999, have agreed to the following Plan of Cooperation for the years 2000-2002.

Article 1


The Contracting Parties agree to continue and develop their collaboration Primarily in the following areas:

1. Health policy and research;

2. Health education and sciences;

3. Health supervision;

4. Disease control;

5. Health care services;

6. Maternal and child health;

7. Traditional medicine.

Article 2


The Contracting Parties, according to needs and possibilities, shall mutually render relevant health legal regulations, medical documents and publications as well materials on health education.

Article 3


The Contracting Parties shall mutually invite specialists and researchers to participate in scientific conferences. The inviting Party shall notify the other Party two months in advance on the program of the conference. The financial conditions shall be specific in the letter of invitation.

Article 4


The Contracting Parties shall exchange specialists and study tour groups to carry out joint activities and exchange experiences for the total of fifteen Person/week annually. Both Parties shall notify the other Party, two months prior to the visit, about the name, sex, position held of the specialists, outlines of study tour, period of stay and languages spoken.

Article 5


According the Article 4 of this Plan of Cooperation, the costs of international travel for specialists shall be borne by the sending Party. The meals, hotel accommodation and domestic transportation during their visit in that country shall be covered by the hosting Party.

According the Article 4 of this Plan of Cooperation, the hosting Party shall be responsible for provding free medical treatment in the event that any of the specialists fall ill or meet with an accident during their visit in that country.

Article 6


The Contracting Parties shall encourage the establishment of direct collaboration and exchanges shall be borne from the budges of the institutions concerned in the two countries.

Article 7


This Plan of Cooperation will enter into force on the date of its signature by the two Parties and remain valid on December 31, 2002.

Done at May 18, 2000 on Zagreb in two originals, in the Chinese, Croatian and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of differences in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
