Liu Yandong Meets with Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic of Croatia

On May 23 local time, Vice Premier Liu Yandong met with Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic of Croatia in Zagreb.

Liu Yandong first conveyed the warm greetings from Premier Li Keqiang to Milanovic, and extended her sincere sympathy on the loss of personnel and properties caused by the recent severe floods in Croatia. Milanovic asked Liu Yandong to convey his best wishes to Premier Li Keqiang, and expressed his gratitude for China's kindness and assistance to Croatia when it is plagued by the severe floods. Milanovic condemned the recent serious violent terrorist incident in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, and said that the violent terrorists should be brought to justice as early as possible. Liu Yandong said that violent terrorists are common enemies of all mankind, and the Chinese government is taking all-out efforts to crack the case, and will severely punish the violent terrorists, resolutely safeguarding the safety of people's lives and properties as well as the stability and order of the society.

Liu Yandong said, China-Croatia relationship enjoys a good momentum for development. The next year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries. We wish to take it as a new starting point to strengthen political mutual trust and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, thus enhancing the China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership to a new level. Hope that the two sides could pinpoint the converging points of cooperation, integrate the demand of Croatia in the infrastructure construction with the technological and capital advantages of the Chinese enterprises, as well as the regional advantages of Croatia with the willingness of the Chinese enterprises to invest and start business in Europe, thus realizing complementary advantages and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. China supports the two countries to strengthen their exchanges and cooperation in the fields of tourism, education, scien-tech and people-to-people and cultural engagement, and welcomes Croatia to participate more actively in the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

Milanovic said that Croatia admires the great achievements China has made in terms of economic and social development in the past decades, looks forward to enhancing the Croatia-China practical cooperation in various fields, and welcomes Chinese enterprises to actively participate in infrastructure construction of the port, logistics and others in Croatia .
