On October 16, 2015, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhang Dejiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic of Croatia.

Zhang Dejiang said that China and Croatia are good friends and good partners, with bilateral comprehensive cooperative partnership developing smoothly. During her visit, Mme. President and President Xi Jinping have jointly charted the course for the future development of China-Croatia relations. The two sides should actively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state to strengthen friendly cooperation in all areas, advance their respective development and benefit the two peoples. The NPC of China is willing to conduct more exchanges with the Parliament of Croatia centering on economic transformation and the improvement and guarantee of people's livelihood, push bilateral cooperation in education, culture, tourism and other aspects, and promote legal system construction in their own countries, so as to create better policy environment, legal environment and social environment for bilateral personnel exchanges and investment cooperation between enterprises of both countries.

Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said that her visit to China yielded fruitful results. The Croatian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to constantly deepen cooperation in all areas and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between legislative bodies of the two countries.
