On January 15, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met at request with Croatian Ambassador to China Dario Mihelin.

Qin Gang expressed, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Croatian side to maintain the sound development momentum of bilateral relations, push the exchanges and cooperation in all areas under the Belt and Road Initiative and the mechanism of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC), and hopes the Croatian side to make greater contributions to advancing China-European Union (EU) relations. Dario Mihelin expressed, the Croatian side supports the Belt and Road Initiative and China-CEEC cooperation, and is willing to take the opportunities of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership this year and Croatia's assumption of the EU presidency in the first half of 2020 to promote the sustained and sound development of Croatia-China relations and EU-China relations.

Both sides also exchanged views on other topics of common interest.
