Wang Huning Meets with President Milos Zeman of the Czech Republic

On April 28, 2019, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Wang Huning met with President Milos Zeman of the Czech Republic at the Great Hall of the People.

Wang Huning expressed that the strategic partnership between the two countries is in a new period of comprehensive and rapid development. President Xi Jinping and Mr. President held the 8th meeting over the past five years this morning, which charted the course and drew up a blueprint for deepening bilateral relations. The Chinese side is willing to, together with the Czech side, well implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations as an opportunity, seize the historic opportunity of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and enhance communication and coordination in international affairs, so as to lift bilateral relations to new levels.

Milos Zeman congratulated on the complete success of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and expressed that the Czech Republic upholds multilateralism, and supports the joint building of the BRI. Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic stands ready to work with the Chinese side to enhance practical cooperation and promote bilateral cooperation for more outcomes.
