On February 27, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met in Beijing with Vratislav Mynar, Special Envoy of President of the Czech Republic and Head of the Presidential Office of the Czech Republic.

Vratislav Mynar conveyed the sympathies and support of President Milos Zeman to the Chinese government and people in fighting against the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, and handed the list of donated supplies of the Czech Republic. Vratislav Mynar said, the Czech Republic admires the Chinese side's timely and effective prevention and control measures, which has achieved positive results, and believes that the Chinese people will be able to defeat the epidemic as soon as possible and resume normal production and life at early date. The Czech Republic is willing to work with the Chinese side to plan and prepare for high-level exchanges between the two countries in the next stage, and continue to enhance practical cooperation in various fields. The Czech Republic will continue to be committed to cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) and China.

Qin Gang thanked President Milos Zeman, the government of the Czech Republic and its people for their firm support for China's fight against the epidemic, and emphasized that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, we are fully confident and capable of winning the battle against the epidemic. The fundamentals of the long-term improvement of the Chinese economy have not changed. We will work hard to achieve the economic and social development goals set for this year. The Chinese side attaches importance to developing friendly and cooperative relations with the Czech Republic, and hopes that the two sides will take the consensus reached by the two heads of state as a guide to further strengthen political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation and jointly promote greater development of bilateral relations and China-CEEC cooperation.
