On January 13, 2016, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing met with outgoing Latvian Ambassador to China Ingrida Levrence. Liu spoke positively of Ingrida Levrence's work in China during the past seven years, and hoped that she will continuously care about and support the development of China-Latvia relations in her new position. Ingrida Levrence said that she will continue to make contributions to the development of Latvia-China relations. Both sides also exchanged views on topics such as the bilateral relations and the cooperation between the Central and Eastern European countries and China.
