On March 9, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrejs Pildegovičs of Latvia held political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries in Beijing. Both sides mainly exchanged views on bilateral relations, the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", the "16+1 cooperation", China-Europe relations and international and regional issues of common concern.
