Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with Jusys, Under-Secretary of Lithuanian Foreign Ministry

On November 20, 2007, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in the office building of the Foreign Ministry with Jusys, under-secretary of Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, who is here for political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries.

During the meeting, Wang said the Chinese government attaches importance to ties with Lithuania and appreciates the Lithuanian government's adherence to the one-China policy. China is ready to keep closer exchanges in all areas, tap potential in economic and trade cooperation and expand pragmatic collaboration. Wang briefed on the domestic and foreign policies agreed upon during the 17th CPC National Congress, stressing that China will adhere to peaceful development and make new contributions to mankind's civilization. China will also seek a win-win situation and work with other countries to build a harmonious world, he added. Describing China's growth as an important opportunity to Europe, the vice foreign minister hoped that Lithuania will continue to play a constructive role in pushing forward China-Euro ties.

Hailing the sound development of bilateral ties, Jusys said Lithuania deems China its most important political, economic and trade partner for cooperation in Asia. Lithuania is ready to enhance the level of bilateral ties, especially pragmatic cooperation in economy, trade, transportation and other areas for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
