Li Keqiang Holds Talks with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius of Lithuania and Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia

On the afternoon of November 5, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang held talks respectively with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius of Lithuania and Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia while attending the 5th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) at the National Library of Latvia in Riga.

In his talks with Algirdas Butkevicius, Li Keqiang expressed that China-Lithuania relations are experiencing smooth progress. China appreciates Lithuania’s active efforts in developing relations with China and is willing to enhance practical cooperation with Lithuania to realize mutual benefit and win-win results and benefit the two peoples.

Algirdas Butkevicius said that Lithuania is deeply satisfied with the development of bilateral relations and expects to further expand bilateral cooperation in trade and investment. The “16+1 cooperation” is of great importance and Lithuania is willing to actively push the cooperation for more achievements.

In his talks with Robert Fico, Li Keqiang stated that both sides should respect each other’s core interests and major concerns and meet each other halfway, so as to promote the sound and stable development of China-Slovakia relations.

Robert Fico noted that the Slovakian government attaches great importance to its relations with China and its principled stance of sticking to the one-China policy remains unchanged. Slovakia is ready to join hands with China to push the sound progress of bilateral relations in the right direction.
