On July 24, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with outgoing Lithuanian Ambassador to China Ina Marciulionyte.

Qin Gang spoke positively of Ina Marciulionyte's contributions to boosting the development of China-Lithuania relations during her term of office. Qin Gang said, thanks to the historic opportunities of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC), substantial progress has been made in China-Lithuania relations in recent years, with fruitful outcomes from cooperation in various fields. China-Lithuania cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 has further deepened the friendship between the two sides. The Chinese side expects the Lithuanian side to continue to actively participate in China-CEEC cooperation and contribute to the development of China-European Union (EU) relations.

Ina Marciulionyte said, Lithuania and China have yielded fruitful results in exchanges and cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, transportation, logistics, cultural and people-to-people engagement, and local areas affairs in recent years, and the mutual support between the two sides in the fight against the epidemic reflects our good friendship. The Lithuanian side attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to continuously promote new achievements in Lithuania-China relations under the frameworks of EU-China relations and CEEC-China cooperation.
