Yang Jiechi Meets with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajčák of Slovakia

On February 4, 2015, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met at Zhongnanhai with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajčák of Slovakia, who was in China for an official visit.

Yang Jiechi expressed that the overall China-Slovakia relations enjoy a smooth development in recent years. China is willing to join efforts with Slovakia to further cement the political foundation of bilateral relations, advance bilateral exchanges in various fields, and boost bilateral cooperation within the cooperation frameworks between China and the EU as well as China and the Central and Eastern European countries, so as to push China-Slovakia relationship and China-Europe relations to new highs.

Miroslav Lajčák said that Slovakia, which attaches great importance to developing relations with China, will push the bilateral relations for greater progress on the basis of mutual respect and mutual understanding, and make unremitting efforts to deepen cooperation between the Central and Eastern European countries and China and the Europe-China relations.
