Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia

On the afternoon of July 6, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Sofia with Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Slovakia enjoy traditional friendship. Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovakia. Both sides should seize the opportunity to further deepen political mutual trust and practical cooperation on the basis of respecting each other's core interests and major concerns.

Li Keqiang pointed out that Slovakia is welcome to participate in the first China International Import Expo, and to promote the competitive products to Chinese consumers. Since Slovakia boasts incomparable geographical advantages, China is glad to witness that connectivity between countries in the region is enhanced, and stands ready to explore cooperation together with Slovakia in railway and automobile, enhance financial cooperation, and advance bilateral trade and investment facilitation.

Peter Pellegrini expressed that Slovakia hopes to enhance cooperation and exchanges with China in various areas and is willing to explore cooperation with China in the projects of high-speed railway connectivity and broad-gauge railways in the four countries in the region by giving play to Slovakia's geographical advantages. And Slovakia also hopes to reach an agreement with China on dairy products exported to China as soon as possible and promote the facilitation of bilateral customs clearing. Slovakia welcomes Chinese banks and postal services to set up representative offices in the country.
