Wang Yi Meets with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz

On February 14, 2020 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at request with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in Munich.

Sebastian Kurz said, China is an important partner of Austria and Austria-China relations are very friendly, with cooperation in various fields constantly developing. At present, the Chinese side is fighting against the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. The Austrian side wishes the Chinese side an early victory and is also willing to continue to provide the Chinese side with the necessary support. As next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and China, the Austrian side is willing to take this opportunity to jointly implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields such as economy, trade and tourism, and promote Austria-China friendly strategic partnership for new development.

Wang Yi thanked the Austrian side for its precious support for China in fighting the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. Wang Yi said, with frequent high-level exchanges between China and Austria, bilateral relations have grown rapidly in recent years. The visit of you and Austrian President to China in 2018, as a much-told story in the history of international exchanges, has been exerting positive effects on the China-Austria relationship. China will further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas with Austria as a trusted partner and strengthen mutual support and coordination in international affairs.
