On June 14, 2019, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide met with Federal Prosecutor Frédéric Van Leeuw of Belgium, exchanging views on strengthening judicial cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides introduced relevant domestic judicial system, duties of the organizations and the process of handling judicial cases, as well as spoke positively of the relations between the two countries and the treaty foundation for judicial cooperation. Both sides recognized the extensive common interests in combating crime through cooperation, and agreed to intensify communication for work, speed up ratification process of bilateral treaties and strengthen cooperation in such areas as extradition, anti-corruption and asset recovery.
