On February 2, 2024, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Xi met with Director for French Nationals Abroad and Consular Administration of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Pauline Carmona in Paris, France.

The two sides agreed to take the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism as an opportunity to accelerate arrangements for facilitating related personnel exchanges, and earnestly safeguard the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas citizens, so as to create favorable conditions for bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields.
