President Xi Jinping Appoints New Ambassadors

On October 16, 2014, President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.

I. Wei Hongtian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Federal Republic of Somalia.

II. Zhang Weidong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Iceland.

III. Yang Wanming was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Argentina, replacing Yin Hengmin.
