Foreign Leaders Extend Congratulations to Chinese New Leadership

On March 23, 2018, some state leaders and principals of international organizations successively sent telegrams and messages to Xi Jinping, warmly congratulating him on his election as President of the People's Republic of China.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda expressed that Xi Jinping's election as President of China reflects the Chinese people's trust in his leadership. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni wished Xi Jinping greater success.

President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo conveyed his warmest congratulations on Xi Jinping's election as President of China by a unanimous vote. Joseph Kabila firmly believed that under Xi Jinping's forward-looking leadership, China's economic and social development will certainly be pushed ahead constantly, benefiting China, Africa and the whole world at large.

President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed that he would like to extend the warmest congratulations and the sincerest wishes to Xi Jinping. Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan wished the friendly Chinese people happiness and health and the UAE-China relations greater development so as to better benefit the two countries and their peoples.

President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir of Sudan believed that the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is bound to be realized under Xi Jinping's leadership. He wished China greater success under Xi Jinping's leadership and the friendly Chinese people ongoing progress, development, health and happiness.

President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that China is one of the most important strategic partners of the European Union. They firmly believed that the Europe-China relations, based on the principle of equality and mutual respect, will help both sides to cooperate in coping with common challenges in economy, security and other fields against the backdrop of globalization.

President Gudni Johannesson of Iceland said that the Icelandic people cherish the friendly feelings of the Chinese people and hope the two countries will continuously and successfully carry out mutually beneficial cooperation.

President Rumen Georgiev Radev of Bulgaria firmly believed that Xi Jinping will continue achieving success in the important post of Chinese President and make greater contributions to promoting China's national development and its people's well-being. Rumen Georgiev Radev looked forward to making joint efforts with Xi Jinping to elevate bilateral relations to new stages.

President Alain Berset of the Swiss Confederation sincerely congratulated Xi Jinping on his election as Chinese President and wished him new success. Alain Berset hoped that the relations and friendship between the Swiss Confederation and China would continue being deepened.

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart of Barbados said that Xi Jinping's election highlights the trust and support from the Chinese people. Under Xi Jinping's brilliant leadership, China will surely make greater development achievements.

President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach said that Xi Jinping's election as Chinese President by a unanimous vote fully demonstrates the Chinese people's great trust in him and his thought on state governance and administration. Thomas Bach extended his heartfelt gratitude to Xi Jinping's firm support for the Olympic sports and expressed that the IOC stands ready to offer full support to the realization of the Chinese Dream. The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will showcase a modern China to the world and open up a new chapter the development of Olympics in China.

Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that Xi Jinping's election as Chinese President demonstrates that his leadership has won the general support from the Chinese people. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus firmly believed that Xi Jinping will lead China in the new era to strive for the building of a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious and beautiful. The WHO will continue providing technical support for the Chinese government in implementing the Healthy China initiative.

Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry believed that under Xi Jinping's wise leadership, the great China will score more brilliant achievements and the sound cooperative relations between the WIPO and China will be further strengthened.
