Q: Could you brief us on the Forth China-Norway Roundtable on Human Rights?


A: China and Norway jointly held in Beijing the Forth China-Norway Roundtable on Human Rights from May 10 to 11. The two sides held three roundtable meetings on human rights in Beijing and Oslo in 1997, 1998 and 1999 respectively. At this year's meeting, delegates from the two sides increased their mutual understanding and broadened consensus through a candid and in-depth exchange of views on issues of the right to development, the rule of law, and the role of NGOs.
