Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang Attends Reciprocal Reception Held by Newly-appointed Cuban Ambassador to China for Presenting the Credentials

On November 25, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang attended upon invitation the reciprocal reception held by newly-appointed Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira at the Cuban Embassy in China for presenting the credentials. The two sides exchanged views on China-Cuba relations and other topics.

Qin Gang welcomed Carlos Miguel Pereira on his assumption of the new post in China, expressing that Cuba is the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China and that China and Cuba have special friendly relations. It is hoped that the two sides will take the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cuba diplomatic relations next year to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and continue to deepen practical cooperation in various fields to benefit the peoples of the two countries.

Carlos Miguel Pereira praised the development achievements of the People's Republic of China in the past 70 years. He said, I feel honored to be Ambassador to China for the second time at this important moment of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Cuba-China diplomatic relations, and I am willing to make every effort to make new contributions to the development of Cuba-China relations during my tenure.
